chris gordon joins us from the scene with the latest on the investigation. chris? >> reporter: good evening. just a short time ago, county fire official told me they are not releasing the names of the victims here or the cause of this fatal fire. early this morning, you had three people die here despite heroic rescue efforts. >> we do have some success, but overall it is an extreme tragedy. >> reporter: it began about 4:00 a.m. firefighters arriving less than five minutes after receiving emergency calls from neighbors. they faced very dangerous conditions, fire showing and heavy smoke. he ran hoses and ladders, as they began pulling people out of the house. one fighter fighter carried an 11-year-old girl revived by the paramedic outside. the mother of the family jumped to safety. she and an 8-year-old daughter are being treated for smoke inhalation, but the twin sister of the 8-year-old died. so did a 4-year-old sister and their father. it appears the house did not have working smoke detectors. >> i don't know yet whether it was smoke or fire that caused the deaths
